Advice on having a dorm cat?
Hello! I'm looking for advice on introducing cats. So I am in school, and planning on adopting a cat/kitten to live here with me. Everything while I'm here has been worked out, I'm just worried about coming home to my family cat (in the picture). I come home for a pretty long stretch of time over breaks, and I would need to bring my new cat home with me. my existing cat is friendly with other animals from our experience, she had kittens before we adopted her and liked to takeing care of the kittens at the shelter. I've looked into the Jackson Galaxy method of introducing cats, I'm just worried that using my room as a 'base camp' for the new cat would prevent my existing cat from sleeping in the bed with me, as she gets clingy at night and nobody else in my family leaves their door open at night. Also, I'm not sure if I would have to start the method over every time I come home, or if it could be shortened. Any advice in general from people who also have cats at college would be really helpful, I want to do this but also want to make sure I'm doing what's best for the cats. Thanks!
