Is consuming hateful online content towards men affecting my dating life?
I (32M) been thinking about this a lot lately and wanted some honest outside perspective. Over the past year or so, I’ve spent a decent amount of time on social media where there’s a lot of content that’s pretty negative toward men like stuff about how men are trash, selfish, emotionally immature, only want one thing, etc. At first I didn’t take it too seriously, but I kept consuming it regularly.
Now I’m starting to wonder if it’s actually affecting how I see myself and how I act when dating. I catch myself being more careful, assuming I need to apologize, or kind of pulling back emotionally even when a I haven't really done anything wrong.
Has anyone else experienced something like this? Did cutting back on that kind of content actually help? I’m trying to figure out if this is something I need to actively change or if I’m overthinking it.
Appreciate any honest advice.
