Update on the Shake Up in the Sabi Sands
As of March 25, the transition of Tengile River Lodge away from the andBeyond portfolio is official. This property has joined MalaMala Camp, Rattray’s Lodge, Kirkman’s Kamp, and Sable Camp to form the newly launched Tengile MalaMala Collection.
This confirms the Sabi Sands shake-up previously flagged by u/alex_travels. All of these lodges are located along the Sand River in the Greater Kruger, which is an area known for consistent animal viewing.
A few technical details to note from the announcement:
- Management Focus: The collection emphasizes its ties to the community and the overall guest experience, and it is a partnership between Co-Managing Directors Caroline Burke and Savannah Saad.
- New Development: They have announced a new property called Khensani River Lodge, slated for a December 2026 opening. They are describing it as an "at home in the bush retreat."
