Rate My ECs (UMich Is My Dream School)

They're kind of all over the place but that's because my life is just chaos.

Clubs: Key Club, NHS, Newspaper, Chess, and one community-focused school-specific club

Sports: 1 year of JV Triple Jump and 2 years of JV/Varsity chess

Leadership/Impact: 1 year as advertising editor for newspaper focused on social media and helping with publishing, I founded the movie review column and ran it with my friend for 3 years, Participated in school events and fundraisers. STUCO Representative for chess, member of both the club and team, primarily played JV but earned a varsity letter for playing in higher-level matches, USCF member and have attended a few out-of-school tournaments. Volunteered at Key Club events. Tutored for NHS. 2 years of band. I have an Interior Design certification.

Outside of School: Pilot training, I have 22.8 hours logged, have done ground school as well, plan on getting my Recreational License before I apply. Whitewater rafting, participated in a week-long rafting trip focused on learning about the outdoors and included leadership training. Screenwriting, I finished a television pilot, for 8/10 on Character and Dialogue on The Black List (top 3-5%), plan on submitting it to contests. Newsletter Writing, had an aviation newsletter published for a few months through a pilot training company. Digital volunteering, Zooniverse and Smithsonian Transcription Center. Medical shadowing at a family clinic.

Gap year plans: Trying to find a professor to help with mathematical research. Trying to get my film reviews publshed. Plan on participating in the Purple Comet Math Meet. Plan on submitting my screenplay to contests. Am Signing up for the Congressional Award Program. Crossing my fingers I'm a Presidential Scholars Semifinalist.
