is Culver’s a bad first job?

Question

so I was hired at Culver’s. I start watching a bunch of videos tomorrow and then I start working/training. this is my first job ever.

to give some context, I had an unfortunate upbringing where I was sheltered from everyone and everything. I was homeschooled but didn’t get proper schooling. I pretty much learned everything I know by myself. I know basic math, but I’m terrible and slow with it.

I also struggled with social anxiety all of my life (go figure), but I have just been throwing myself out there recently as I was tired of being shy. I’m still incredibly shy, but I can talk to people.

Culver’s is my first job ever. I kind of had to fight tooth and nail to get my mother to allow me to have a job (I am 22). I am going in completely blind, I don’t know what to expect, but I’m just going with the flow and trying to have a good attitude about it all because I want to learn and grow in every way I can.

I won’t lie, I am incredibly nervous and anxious about it but am trying to remain calm and tell myself “I can do this.” but I always get that pit in my stomach on the way there and kind of shut down. I’m scared I’m going to mess up so badly, terrified I’m just one of those people incapable of learning, etc.

so my question is, should I have went for something else? is Culver’s a bad job for someone to start with?

regardless, there’s nothing I can do other than try my best… so what are your tips for me and how can I be the best team member I can be??
