Health Insurance Service Charge

Location: Detroit, Michigan

I am a 23 y/o female currently enrolled through the marketplace for health insurance with United Healthcare (I just terminated it today and will go on private insurance). I was being charged for 2 months with no access to my insurance and my plan was still not activated until I escalated the issue to United Healthcare telling them on March 3rd I would file a complaint for unauthorized charges.

Now they’re telling me my plan has been active since February.

I was wondering if there is anything I can do to get to get some sort of refund for that month because it seems I cannot do it through United. I think it’s illegal to be charged without having access to my insurance, any advice?

I would like to add I have chat logs with United Healthcare and the bills they have sent me to prove that my insurance has not been activated since February like they have claimed.
