Best beginner class/hero?

Hi, friends recently coerced me into playing OW. I once was quite good in Counter Strike (once means like 2004) and gravitate to a hero with a battle rifle like aim based playstyle. A battle rifle is a large calibre half automatic weapon which has a lot of oomph. My friends suggested Emre, he is quite fun indeed.

Regardless, when other classes/heroes are more suitable for beginners I'm open for every advice.
