Considering Upgrading
Sorry in for the long post and thank you for any help in advance.
I’m struggling to decide whether upgrading my PC right now is actually worth it, or whether I should just hold off and wait.
My current setup is:
- CPU: Ryzen 5 7600
- GPU: RX 7800 XT
- Motherboard: ASRock B650 Pro RS
- RAM: 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5-6000
- Monitor: 27", 1440p, Fast IPS, 260hz OC
The main games I play are Siege, Fortnite, FIFA, Apex, CS, Val, COD and I also play AAA/single-player games where I want things to look good. So I’m kind of split between wanting very high FPS in competitive games and still having a nice-looking 1440p experience in everything else.
If/when I do upgrade, my current PC would be given to my girlfriend, so it’s not just a case of replacing parts for ‘no reason’.
At the same time, I’m pretty value-focused, and I don’t want to upgrade just for the sake of it if the real-world gain won’t feel that big. I’ve mostly been looking at a CPU upgrade to something like a 7800X3D or 9800X3D (300-400~ euros respectively) and I’ve also been looking at 90-series GPUs (600-800~ euros).
Thanks again!
