I know that many people build SaaS products as a hobby or as experiments and keep them free. Some are for public good, some are not ready to charge yet, and others want to grow their user base before monetizing. There are many reasons.

The problem is that because these products are free, it's hard to spend money on promotion. And that makes it even harder to find places where you can actually share them and get users.

That's why I built LeanVibe.io, a platform focused only on free and pre-revenue products. No paywalls, no pricing pages, just things people can actually try.
