For a two-week school project (10 days, \~7 hours each day), my partner and I decided to build a game without using Unity.

After finding a really cool font on itch.io ([dungeon.mode](https://datagoblin.itch.io/dungeonmode)), we got the idea to create an old-school ASCII-style dungeon crawler. One of our lecturers recommended Raylib, so we decided to give it a try. Since we didn’t want to learn a new language, we went with Raylib-cs and stayed with C#.

Our initial goal was pretty simple: just a two-dimensional array that the player can move around in. But once we got that working, we kept expanding the project day by day, adding whatever came to mind to create a proper gameplay loop.

At this point, the project consists of 38 scripts and around 4,650 lines of code (including line breaks). The dungeon levels were created in Excel spreadsheets, which are then read and interpreted by the game. We’re planning to upload the project as a prototype on itch.io soon, once we’ve built a few more levels. The video currently only shows two test levels.

Any feedback is appreciated.
