Junior Dev Jobs?

I've been following the "it's so over / we're so back" timeline for a while now, seems like there's consensus that the AI bubble is going to burst eventually? Hopefully?

Is it even worth trying to apply for Junior Dev jobs now? Do they even exist? I'm trying to make the jump from IT Support/Helpdesk into software development, but all I keep hearing about is how the junior dev jobs are dried up.

How does one get get a Junior Dev job in today's climate? Just keep applying and hope for the best?
