"Fans Vote to 'Batgirl' SFA Season 2".....did they?
I just saw an article on Facebook with the above title, and it made the claim that in a poll of Star Trek fans, 80% voted to "Batgirl" (not release and claim it as a financial loss for tax purposes) season 2 of SFA due to overwhelmingly negative reception of season 1. Now I will fully admit that SFA wasn't for me - not for any kind of politics reason; I didn't love the tone and felt that the time frame the show was set in wasn't the best fit for it; I greatly dislike the 32nd century setting; and my biggest issue was that here was this show no one asked for and it felt like getting it cost us Star Trek Legacy.
But all that said, these are preferential complaints, and I never thought the show was BAD, just not to my tastes. My complaints were subjective. So this article was something of a head scratcher, particularly as what discussion I've seen of SFA on here was far more balanced. Now I think it goes without saying that people criticizing the show was certainly impacted by people bringing politics into it, but even with that it doesn't seem like the the perception of the show could be so heavily impacted as the article suggested. So I was just curious, was feedback on the show really that bad, political motivations aside? I don't want to discuss the politics or wokeness of the show, just a sense of the overall reception
