Deposit paid for shutters – refund agreed in writing but not received (London)

Civil Litigation

I paid a deposit to a shutters company following initial discussions and arrangements.

I later cancelled the order and was informed in writing that a refund would be arranged.

Despite this, the refund has not been received, and communication since then has been inconsistent.

I have written confirmation of the refund agreement.

I’ve raised this with Trading Standards, submitted a complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service, and started a small claim.

My concern now is whether it’s actually worth pursuing the small claim further if the company doesn’t have assets or avoids payment.

Has anyone dealt with a similar situation or have advice on enforcement or next steps?
