I need advice on Guest House Paradiso (also slight confession)

I am a life long Bottom fan. I was bought series 1 for my 10th birthday on vhs, but I’d already seen it and loved it. And I have watched all repeated media but 1. And that is Guest House Paradiso. I was I. Hospital when it was out at the cinema and missed it and everyone I know at the time warned me against it because of how bad they said it was. Ade and Rik are 2 of my hero’s (Riks death is one of the only celebrity deaths that actually upset me). I guess I just didn’t want that idolatry smeared as I have avoided the movie since. So that the confession….I’m missing a big part of the experience in the movie.

So my question… is it as bad as I’ve heard? Is it worth watching?
