Best way to alter my wedding dress for a growing baby bump?
Hi everyone,
My wedding is in 6 weeks, and I'm currently 18 weeks pregnant. My bump has already made my dress tight at the waist and I can barely zip it at this point. The bust still fits well once it is zipped. My original plan was to add a lace up corset back with a modesty panel from my hemmed fabric instead of the zipper to give myself the freedom to adjust it. I'll be taking out the faux corset loops already in place. I'm wondering if I should also raise the front waist on the bodice a bit to give my bump more room by then? I'm unsure how high my bump will be in 6 weeks, and also unsure if raising the waist and skirt will throw off the lines or structure of the dress. I have some inches to hem off the length, so raising the waist shouldn't make the skirt too short. Would it look strange to have a shorter bodice in the front?
