Why can't I tame the millions of other animals on the map?????

Listen... if I can pick up goats, raccoons, foxes, every bird that's ever existed, and whatever other creatures - why cant I pet them like cats and dogs and make them my pet? Come on dude, don't give me 400 species and only allow 2 of them to be pets. Imagine a bird just chilling on your shoulder as you wander the world?? Cool asf???

and don't get me started on the horrid treatment Cliff gives them when he just throws that poor creature back on the ground LOL. please man
