Help figuring out itinerary for Rome and Ravello (Sept 2-12)
Planning my first solo trip to Italy this September and plan to split the time between Rome and one coastal town. I'm interested in Ravello but would love to know of others would recommend other coastal towns that are slow paced, relaxed and scenic?
I'm looking at 10 days in total and am thinking about the following itinerary:
Day 1: Fly into Rome and get settled in (looking at staying in Monti)
Day 2, 3, 4: Sightseeing and exploring Rome, mostly the historical landmarks
Day 5: Transfer to coastal town (potentially Ravello but still undecided). My question on this is how long does it take to get from Rome to the coastal towns? I've read that it can take anywhere from 3-5 hours by train + bus.
Day 6: Hike the path of the Gods (honestly only thinking of doing this because it keeps popping up on the must-do lists)
Day 7, 8, 9: Explore the town, sightseeing, etc
Day 10: Back to Rome airport to fly home.
If anyone has spent time in the coastal towns in the south, I'd love to know what else I should consider doing along my short stay and which towns you would recommend!
Thank you!
