Leak Defense and GFCI outlets
I'm trying to decide which "smart" water shutoff system to go with, and thought I'd settled on Leak Defense as the most reliable. But, I just learned that code requires the outlet that I need to install in the water main closet to be GFCI, and Leak Defense specifically requires a non-GFCI outlet (to avoid nuisance tripping). Which is a bit of an ironic dilemma.
Has anyone dealt with this, or have a Leak Defense plugged into a GFCI outlet? Does it actually cause problems or it's mostly just a hypothetical issue?
