[Product Question] is Timeless Vit C supposed to smell like rotten sharpies?

So I recently started using the Timeless 10% vitamin C serum after hearing great things about it. The one thing that’s putting me off about it is it’s the worst smelling vitamin C serum I’ve ever used it literally smells like sharpie dry-down + some weird kinda sickly smell. Is this… normal? Or did o just get a bad batch?

Also has anyone tried the elf vitamin C + E + ferulic acid and if so is it similar?
