How do I transfer PS4 save data to a PS5 console?

Upgrading from PS4 to PS5 seems pretty straightforward on paper, but I’ve seen a lot of mixed info about moving save data over—especially when it comes to avoiding corrupted files or missing progress.

Some people say cloud saves are the safest option, others swear by USB transfers, and then there’s the whole system transfer method. It’s a bit confusing figuring out which one is actually reliable long-term.

I recently got my PS5 and I’m trying to bring over my saves from a bunch of games I’ve put way too many hours into. My main concern is losing progress or messing something up during the transfer. I also don’t have the fastest internet, so downloading everything from the cloud might take a while.

Has anyone here gone through this recently? What method worked best for you, and is there anything I should avoid doing?
