Working Class Hero - How to win a landslide as Agnew in TTNW even *with* Bobby Kennedy controlling the FBI and airing your dirty laundry.
I wanted to join in on the guides I've seen for TTNW, but from the Morton/GOP side. One of my favorite paths is the Agnew path. It is shockingly easy to win in a landslide as Agnew against RFK ... even with Kennedy using the FBI as his goons against you. Lester? Taken, not you. Midterms? GOP wave. Saigon? Fallen, but that's Bobby's fault, not yours. Take this guide and be the crook, I mean, working class hero you were meant to be.
All visits to Louisiana (say hi to Russell for me).
- I had a truly marvelous dinner with Clarke Reed ... (The party lines of old don't exist anymore. Punish Bobby for being the only Democrat in history to win without a single Southern state.)
- Oh, well, I... I do suppose... (NGL Joseph P. Kennedy Sr. was a shit bag. Don't feel bad.)
- The crime issue is awful, but Hruska Not in the running... (Cheap revolvers are cool, and so are those checks from the NRA coming in.)
- Foreign policy should not be politicized... (Need this to make Saigon fall before the election!)
- This thing would add millions to the relief rolls!... (Need this so Bobby can ratfuck us Nixon style.)
- Ah, well, now look, first thing we need to do is ... (Remember what I said about checks being good? The advisor feedback is right.)
- Sam is right... (Yorty is such a quirky guy, isn't he?)
- I'll be sure to make it one-hundred-percent clear ... (Congrats on the good midterm results. Too bad Unruh didn't trounce Reagan, though.)
Give the call to Agnew.
-
Ted isn't what I would consider a visionary, but... (You don't need a visionary. You need the angry voices appeased.)
-
It's the middle class, the white collar voters... (As I said, appease the angry. Let the populism flow through you.)
-
This could be a goldmine... (And indeed it is.)
-
Well... I suppose if this is what the party wants, we should congratulate the governor. (Should get the achievement for your selected nominee winning here too.)
-
Well, Byrd A man of some sense’s the problem here... (Did you know he was in the Klan?)
-
This is already in motion... (And so the predator has his teeth. As as aside, how badly has Bobby fucked over gay rights by airing out J Edgar Hoover's proclivities?)
-
Certainly nobody wants a return... (No commentary here, just feels like the best answer.)
-
Here’s what I’m thinking... (More foreign policy stuff.)
-
This party cannot abandon its base... (Sorry girls.)
-
Look, this is Kennedy and the Democrats’ mess... (Hopefully Agnew ditches the gold standard once elected?)
-
Thank you... (Congrats, Morton. The party is unified and pleased by you.)
-
That anger is still there... (Does anyone know if Arthur Bremer shoots Wallace in this timeline? I am legit curious.)
-
Our country is rotting... (Agnew has the best answer dialogue in this side of the mod, ngl.)
Pick Dole for VP.
-
It's about time we knock a few of those snot-nosed brats... (Good sign to see this answer. That means Bobby is failing in 'Nam.)
-
New York City... (Agnew doesn't seem to like Gore Vidal much.)
-
Lester. It’s Lester... (Keep calm and rat out your friends.)
-
The press will cry... (Rarick is the AIP candidate now, so use Wallace but don't get too friendly.)
-
They were never strong enough for this fight... (You don't need to yell. Just outlast them all.)
-
Good grief... (I don't know if the answers matter here, but you need to see this before election results. Bobby is going to lose even as your corrupt deals are made public knowledge, and he's going to lose *hard*.)
So now you've had Agnew win with 507 EVs, and Bobby Kennedy has only done marginally better than McGovern in the historical 1972 election. Agnew gets elected President and according to the ending, is reelected in 1976, even in spite of the corruption trial. Agnew is just built different. This ending I love since it mentions VtM.
