For starters, I graduated college in NJ around 2018-19 with a BA in marketing, I've been a bartender, car salesman, and currently I've been a para-professional (co-teach special needs students) for about 2 years; I figured having some background/experience in a school setting would look good if I ultimately decided to go into teaching.
I've been bouncing back and forth on whether or not I wanted to take the praxis 5146 (middle school mathematics) praxis for some time now and recently bit the bullet and signed up to take the test in a month.
Backstory out of the way, assuming I pass, what happens after the praxis? Is it as easy as applying for positions after results hit the NJ Board of Ed or something or would I still need to seek out other certifications before applying? Most of the people I know took the traditional 4yr college to student teaching, then teacher route so I'm not really sure what happens after a praxis is passed.
