Installing solidworks with files on an external drive

So I had to get a new laptop over the weekend, and I have to install solidworks on it. My buddy already has it installed so I was wondering if it would be possible to just transfer the files onto an external HDD and then put them on mine. Is there a way to do that? I have the license information from my school as well. I just don’t want to deal with the super long download time because the school Internet has been iffy for the last few days.
