Grade 11 help my grades aren't looking good

my grades are not the best rn if I want to get accepted into a decent uni. what can I do to increase my chances at getting into one and also how can I improve at english? I've never been good at it and I don't understand how people can get high 90s without doing anything. I started locking in second semester and have a 94 in functions so far and like low 90s to high 80s in chemistry. I joined my schools stem club, FTC robotics team, and coding club this year if that changes anything, im also working 15-20 hours a week. I'm hoping to get into McMaster for some sort of engineering, what can I do to increase my chances to get accepted.
