June / Ljubljana - Tirana. Itinerary feedback appreciated.
Hi all!! My bf (24M) and I (24F) are planning our Europe trip for this year and some feedback would be appreciated! :)
For some background last year we did a month long euro trip and the balkans were our favourite part so that's why we decided to head back and explore some more. We drove last year as well and it all went according to plan so we're comfortable driving again. We also know the cost for a one way rental and we're ok with it!
We want to enjoy some nice nature/scenery, do some hiking, explore towns, enjoy some great food and just have a good time! We would like to avoid huge crowds but do understand that June is a busy time for tourism so what can you do!
Anyways here's our current plan, I'm just not sure where to stay in Croatia or if we should shorten or extend our time in any places.
Trip Itinerary:
*Fly into Londom stay for 2N (making a stop here since it's much cheaper and visiting family)
*Fly to Ljubljana from London and drive to Lake Bled stay for 3N to explore the area.
*Drive back to Ljubljaba stay for 1N
*Drive to Croatia and stay for 2N, we were thinking the Piltvice Lakes but reconsidering this now and thinking somewhere more coastal
*Drive to Mostar stay for 2N
*Drive to Shkoder stay for 1N
*Leave the car on Shkoder and stay on the Rivera for 4N and do the Valbona to Theth hike
*Bus back to Shkoder for 1N
*Drive down to Tirana stay for 2N and drop off the car
*Fly to Athens stay for 3N
*Take ferry to Milos stay for 4N
*Ferry back to Athens for 1N
*Fly to London for 3N, then head home.
So that's our current plan any feedback or advice is super appreciated !! I looked into Google Maps and did research but if there is anything missing or something I haven't taken account for please let me know! I also want to note we are from North America so driving 5 hours really is no issue for us haha.
Thank you in advance:)
