Can leaving the seatbelt stem disconnect cause any electrical issues?

I live in Australia and to have a car from the states over 1971 road legal you need to put in these shit Australian standard seat belts which end up being worse than the stock seatbelts. After I get my car registered I’m putting in the original seat belts which everyone does, however the stem plug isn’t compatible with the Australian version and I don’t wanna start chopping wires, is it ok to keep it disconnected for a week or 2 while I get it registered? Or will it cause the airbag to go off or something?
