Historical Romance Sleepover: Dearest Rogue Edition

Hi everyone!

u/inrun and I had a sleepover where we spent the night drinking wine, eating junk food, and reading {Dearest Rogue by Elizabeth Hoyt} ! We have a mini book club that's just the two of us haha

Thanks to everyone that commented on the post asking what book we should read. We decided to go with Dearest Rogue because we realized sleepovers are better with physical copies of books

Both of us rated Dearest Rogue 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

After 6 books we still have the same book ranking: 4, 8, 5, 6, 7 3, 1, 2 (fav to least fav)

I'm kinda shocked that our ratings are the exact same after 8 books haha but we have very similar tastes in books, especially with HR!

We definitely forgot about the yearning and when he snaps but that's alright because the Phoebe smells and Trev doubts himself happened a lot haha

Thoughts...

• >!He closed his eyes. If he was truly married to her, this was what every morning might be like: sweet and unhurried, full of potential."!< ❤️
• Loved seeing all the cameos this book!! It was so nice to see so many previous FMCs at the Syndicate meeting.
• We did well on the Bingo! We decided to wait a couple chapters before making the bingo card so that we know the vibes of the story before making it.
• Of course I forgot to write down the predictions u/inrun made, so she can comment her correct predictions if she remembers them!
• >!"Sandalwood and bergamot meant safety to her now.. and maybe something more."!<❤️I enjoyed seeing her feelings develop for him.
• u/inrun is a faster reader than me and was always a few pages a head of me. So she'd stop reading at the end of each chapter and wait for me to catch up. While waiting she read Heated Rivalry fanfic that I recommended haha.
• Was surprised/sad that Penelope >!isn't getting her own book. I would have liked to see her character growth!< Would have even loved a novella, that was a wild age gap haha.
• The books are better with St. Giles vibes in our opinion, we both felt like that was missing in some of the later books in the series.
• Have been spoiled, so we do know that >!The Duke of Montgomery is the MMC in book #10!< we're both very excited for his book and intrigued to see that character development. He steals every scene that he's in.
• It was so wonderful to see >!Alf!< again🥺🥺
• >!"Damn the waiting. I can't... I can't breathe when you're not with me. I love you with all my cynical heart. Be my wife and teach me to laugh and let me buy you beer and ride with me on the beaches of Cornwall. Be my love and my wife forevermore"!< ❤️Trev is probably one of my favourite MMCs of all time.
• This was probably the book that made me most emotional. I felt like I was on the verge of crying through many parts in this book.
• I was so excited for Phoebes book and it lived up to my expectations!
• On one of the previous sleepover posts, u/WVgirly2024 commented that one of our sleepovers should be for Duke of Sin. We will be making that happen and we are both so excited for it!

We are having such a fun time reading this series and I'm enjoying recapping the sleepovers! I can't believe we only have four books and a couple novellas left of this series. I am not ready for the series to be over!
