Overheating CPU in Intel Thinkpad T14 Gen 1 (Solved)

Question / Problem

I own a T14 Gen 1 with an intel I7 10th gen, and it would over heat very frequently and stay at a dangerously high 95C+ and I believe others have come across this issue too.

After a TON of searching and experimenting and failures I found a solution so shockingly simple to fix the thermal issue that I was confused why I didn't see it talked about elsewhere. So you go to the battery icon in the lower right corner -> right click on it, click power options -> change power settings -> change advanced power settings -> processor power management -> maximum processor state -> change it from 100% to 99% (in battery/ plugged in).

Incase you don't see the maximum processor state option (as I didn't), just ask ai how to get it there. Iirc I had to make a file in the registry and change a value by one digit.

Now my T14 maxes out at 75C-80C under extreme load, and I couldn't be happier :D

Hope y'all have fun with your T14 Gen 1s!

P.S. GTA 4 runs at 50 fps at max settings, spiderman shattered dimensions runs fluid, video/photo editing is really smooth and there's no overheating whatsoever.
