In another life

Strangers who once loved one another more than anything in the world who after a series of events were strangers once again. He loved her more than life itself and she loved him more than there were stars in the sky. They were perfect for each other until they weren’t. It all started with a small conversation and blossomed into so much more.

“I love her with every fiber of my being.” He once said, but that would all change when she started to find a life outside of him. “I love him to Saturn and back.” She said as she stared deep into his eyes. They never once thought that their fairy tale would come to an end. Then again no one ever dreamed that their fairy tale would end.

When he admitted to her that he had been unfaithful she felt a part of her soul be ripped from her. Her heart was broken as were the rose colored glasses that she wore. It's like she could see everything for what it really was. It was almost as though a fog had been lifted and she was seeing the cold world for what it was. She hadn’t hurt like this since she was a little girl and her dad chose substances over her.

She was angry and wondered why she wasn’t good enough for any man to treat her correctly. She was caught in this mix of emotion that made her feel so angry and yet so broken all at the same time. Love was something that she thought she had found. A love to last forever. She was wrong. He was wrong. They drifted away from one another the same way they drifted together. All love and no hate. Lovers once. Strangers once again.
