CenturyLink cellular?

How many of you remember that Us West had quite an extensive array of cellular towers?

They didn't really see a future in cellular so they sold the towers to a little known company at the time called Verizon.

Yeah Joe nacho is said to have sold off the towers to Verizon and then bought a bunch of stock in Verizon.

Then when they saw it was getting popular, they started to rebuild towers but couldn't get into certain areas because they came late to the game, so they sold those towers to Sprint.

How many of you know that Qwest did cellular troubleshooting for Sprint for 8 months after they bought the towers?

We were Qwest employees answering phone calls that people were placing for trouble with their Sprint cell phones.

We were sitting in the same chairs that we had been all along and the phones rang the same way and we answered in exactly the same way except we said thanks for calling Sprint instead of thanks for calling Qwest

The world has really changed.
