Advice on finding housing & joining musical communities?

Hey! I’m committed to NYU Steinhardt’s MM composition/songwriting starting this fall (hmu if you’re in the same program 🕺🏻), and I’d love to hear more about the city and its community :))

As I’m not sure if I’ll get an on-campus graduate housing, what are some good locations for off-campus housing, and howwhere would one find a good listing?

Also, as a musician and composer I’d love to get involved in bands, music-related opportunities, etc. How should I go about finding them?

Thanks!!
