For people who don’t know and for those who want to know
1)How to use reddit ? It is banned on Wifi and lan?
Solution: For mobile just use the "cloudflare one" it is the best option, app is on the playstore .I am sure they can't block this anytime soon so don't worry.
On PC, You can use cloudflare here too, but if you are having trouble, you can use proton vpn or some other well known vpns.
2)Avoid getting banned from the sub
No one wants to ban users, and there’s nothing to gain from it. Moderation is only to keep the subreddit usable for everyone. There’s a rulebook—if you haven’t read it yet, please go through it.
For people who got banned (skip otherwise)
About getting banned: if you use Reddit daily and have been banned from this sub once or multiple times, listen, it will hurt because duplicate accounts will get shadowbanned ,reddit tracks them, and your comments or posts will never be visible to anyone except us from that account. So avoid getting banned. I know how it feels to use Reddit from KGP and not be able to comment.
(If you feel bad and want your ban lifted, DM me.)
3) Things to avoid (especially during elections)
During election time, there’s usually a lot of PR activity. Please keep that out of this subreddit.
Posting or defaming candidates will lead to temporary or permanent bans. This isn’t the place for that.
You can criticize public figures, but follow the rules while doing so.
4) Common reasons people get banned
From what I’ve seen:
- Excessive abuse toward individuals
- Spreading rumors using someone’s name
- Targeting campus individuals unfairly
- Hate speech against any group/region/religion/..
There are more rules—check them in the subreddit:
Go to r/iitkgp → tap the arrow ( > ) → view the rulebook.
5)Request (please read this)
Keep the posts KGP-centric. Bring people back to the sub, be nice to each other, and show the culture of KGP. Talk about the good and bad things. We should fight as one and stay as one. We are KGPians before any hall divides us. Don’t hate our campus people unnecessarily, and also don’t bring politics here. Expose the corrupt, ask doubts, use “bakar” for shitposting, and if you want to say something, say it. Don’t feel lonely—most of us go through the same things. Share it here and make friends here.
