Board Motivation!
I’ll be taking my boards in a few days, and I would love to receive any form of ‘pep-talk’, encouragement, or tips before the big day!
I’ve picked up studying since August of last year, but senior year has been hectic so it’s been quite on and off. I know it’s impossible for me to go into the exam knowing everything down to a T, so I’m just honing in on some of the ‘core’ chapters such as pharmacology, periodontology, and community!
I really do hope that I pass like some of you all did on this page, but no matter what the outcome is, I’m just telling myself to take it as is. A wonderful piece of advice I once heard was that if you didn’t achieve the outcome you originally hoped for, you shouldn’t treat it as a setback. Instead, it should serve as a reminder that you are, in fact— IN LINE. Other people might’ve gotten there first than you did, but what matters is that you’re still in line. You’re just holding your place. If there’s anything I learned in hygiene school so far, it’s that patience, dedication, and hard work pays off in the end. Be patient, your time will eventually come; and like patient care, remember that everyone’s journey towards becoming a hygienist is individualized.
I try to remind myself of these things, as well as to be kind to myself regardless of how I do. Now, this just feels like a pep talk to myself haha. I hope this can help you all too! =))
