Writing in my language first… then English?
I’m developing a historical fantasy set in an Eastern-inspired world, written in my native language. I believe the core of the story is strong and universal enough to resonate across cultures.
Since English is not my first language, I have thought writing the full manuscript in my own language first, then translating it into English, followed by careful revision. I may also use AI tools to support the translation or produce an initial draft in English. I’ve tried to do so for a few pages, the outcome was good from my perspective as a non native English writer.
I’d appreciate any insights from those who have taken a similar approach. Does this process make sense, or could it compromise the final outcome?
