How did you make new friends in your 30’s? I fear that I will never be able to
I have always struggled socially. I find it very hard to connect with someone unless I see them all the time (like when I was in school). Now that Im in my mid 30’s, my closest friend is my husband.
We lived overseas for 10 years where I had zero friends and recently moved back so I have been reconnecting with old friends. Unfortunately I feel that I don’t get along with those friends as much as I used to. Im sad but also I realize that we are all in different stages of life, and I think everyone is comfortable with their own group of besties.
I had kids early on, so most of my kids friends parents are much older. Also because my kids are not toddlers anymore, theres a lot less playdates where the moms chat and hangout. Its more of a drop off situation.
I have met a few new friends (wives of my husbands friends), but pressure of trying to connect over a lunch/coffee date is so stressful for me.
Im tired of socializing now. The past few months I was constantly making plans, making an effort to be social. Now I feel drained. I deleted instagram so I dont have fomo and feel like I “need” to be out doing things with people.
I sometimes think there’s something wrong with me or maybe I was overseas being a loner for so long lol
Anyways do you all have good girlfriends?? How often do you see them? How did you meet them?
