Sleep Study Consultation. What should I say/ask for?

Hey everyone! So I’m geared up for Double Jaw Surgery within the next year or so. In braces now, surgery was deemed not medically necessary, but haven’t gotten a sleep study done so not sure if anything in that realm might be applicable.

I got a referral from my doctor to see a sleep specialist and I’m not sure what I should say. I don’t really want to say “I want my jaw surgery to be fully covered” so I guess I want to know what I should tell them and ask for. I think a few family members have undiagnosed sleep apnea and I can be a bit of a mouth breather/sleeper at times. Should I tell them that I want to test for sleep apnea and UARS? Thanks in advance!
