Anyone using OTA for walking tours? Kinda regretting it after this week

Running walking tours in a tourist spot and been pushing some through this one OTA platform to get more bookings. Helps fill spots when it's slow but man the fees are killing me.

Last week had 8 people show up from there and after their cut I'm left with barely enough to cover my time walking them around telling stories. Plus one group complained about the app glitching on directions and gave me 3 stars saying it wasn't clear where to meet.

The direct bookings from my site or word of mouth are way better margins but harder to get consistently. Feels like I'm trading volume for getting squeezed on every tour.

Do you all stick with OTA or find ways to wean off and how do you deal with the bad reviews from their side?
