Fixing warped discs with my oven

I’m experimenting with my oven temp to fix warped discs faster and so far 200F will ruin the disc. I had a copy of Wolf baking for about 5 minutes and when i checked it a massive wave had formed. I immediately took it out of the oven, pressed with weight(thinking it was still malleable) and it cracked. Now previously i had been baking this disc at 170F for 15-20 minutes and pressing with 50lbs. I did that twice and it was working well. The picture was much clearer but it still wasnt playing perfectly and would fail to play towards the end. So i did some more researching and someone had used 200f to heat their disc and had good results. Well, 200f in my oven fucked it. So be careful going that high. Im experimenting with the left over 2nd disc now to see how high i can go before the disc is toast. I just tried 175f for 15 minutes with no issues.

Obviously i know the risks involved but waiting weeks and months when you have a lot of discs that need treatment isn’t practical. I need to get a quicker method figured out because the goodwill near me has over a hundred laserdiscs sitting at stupid prices. Once they drop I’m swooping in and getting them all if I can. Ive already bought 60 bucks worth from there and the discs have all been warped to some degree. It’s where i got Wolf and i even checked the disc (took it out the sleeve and eyeballed it) for major warps and it looked okay. It wasn’t.

And i know about the recordpi and vinyl flatteners. They’re super pricey but i might cave and get one eventually. And yes, putting the disc between two panes of glass and then going into the oven would probably be better but who has panes of glass sitting around? Not me. Ill probably get some though, cheaper than a recordpi
