\*Disclaimer\* I am only 3 months back into playing tennis after almost 20 years of not playing, so take this review with a grain of salt 😑

I started back into tennis using a 2024 Babolat Pure Strike 100”, 16X19 at 300g, with Babolat Synthetic gut strung at 50lbs of tension. I demo’d half a dozen rackets and this one felt really good, but “muted” and needing a lot of power input. I expected this after reading hundreds of reviews and felt it was pretty spot on since it is labeled a control racquet.

Overall, I found myself getting good placement but just lacking power that would sometimes land me in the net if I wasn’t extra conscious of my swings. Spin was also an issue and I’d find my strings moving around quite a bit. at this point, I still played pretty decent for just getting back into the sport.

Fast forward to last week and my local club got in the new Tecnifibre Fire that I was able to demo on my last day of the program I was in. I specifically demo’d the Fire 100”, 300g, 4 3/8, 16x19, strung with RPM Blast on the mains and Xplorer on the crosses, at 49lbs. At first it felt super tight and my hits were going really long with almost no input from me. After hitting and getting a feel for it, in just a few minutes, I was able to really feel a connection with the racket. I played with it the rest of the evening and was actually sad that I had to return it the following morning.

Fast forward to today, I bought the exact same model but had it strung with Luxilon Element soft IR Neon Red at 49lbs. When I tell you it was like Harry Potter “the wand chooses the wizard” moment, it was exactly that. I was hitting shots smoothly and with minimal effort. My serves instantly started landing more precisely and with a lot more power. The feel of my swings just felt smoother and I was hitting the sweet spot with every swing like I have been playing for years. I can’t describe the feelings I felt, but I can say that it seems like I found my racket and I could not be happier with the look AND the feel. My wife immediately noticed the difference and said tonight was the most fun she’s had playing with me in the three months since I started back (she was previously a tennis coach and rated at a 4.5).

Overall, this racket has been everything I was looking for. It’s powerful, smooth (with that new anti vibration technology), and produces extremely good spin and placement/control. I highly recommend demoing this racket and seeing if it’s a good fit for you like it was for me.

Cheers!
