Prepping for a digital declutter :)

Misc

Despite having a dumb-phone for years, I never did follow the activity suggested by Cal Newport to do a full digital de-clutter of 30 days without optional tech. I've decided starting April 1st (an ironic day I know)

I'll be forgoing all tech excluding my work schedule app to see my shifts, digital check ins for my doctor visits, and my online banks (only on pay days.) No other tech will be allowed from youtube to mp3 players. All my free time has to be spent on purely analog media like paperback books, using my typewriter, or making art. I can have phone calls and texting but have to prioritize in person when possible.

Has anyone here done a full 30 day de-clutter? If so are there any pointers I should be aware of? I think it's almost silly how anxious it makes me to imagine no tech for a month, despite me not having a smart phone until I was 20. I used to just live without tech and that was my normal, it's so strange how tech integrates itself as necessary for daily living. I'll be journaling the whole time so I hope to find some insights as to why my world seems to have shifted.

I wish you all well on your journeys towards more mindful tech use. :)
