Bringing Frosthaven items into JOTL

I’ve played through JOTL and much of Frosthaven. I’m going to be teaching JOTL to my new roommate and playing Redguard (he’ll play Hatchet). I’m considering bringing in some items from Frosthaven, specifically to make red guard more tank-y as well a “shield spikes” build more viable from the get-go but I don’t want to make it feel completely broken.. any suggestions? Also, similarly, any Frosthaven item recommendations for Hatchet in JOTL?
