Are FE Engage mods possible on Android? (Eden)

I'm emulating FE Engage on Eden on my Retroid Pocket G2, and in my quest to explore the potential for modding, I'm finding that most, if not all, Engage mods require an external mod manager. However, other Switch games I've played have mods that work simply by installing them through the "install mods" functionality of one's emulator of choice. Are Engage mods formatted in a way that would allow me to do that, or am I out of luck?
