Text of Massoud Barzani's letter in Kurdish

To the leaders of the Coordination Framework
To the leaders of the National Political Council
Greetings.
In view of the concern and sense of responsibility towards our Iraqi people and the decisive challenges facing the future and its political system we direct; To dominate the language of mutual understanding and cooperation and to adhere to the principles of the constitution to keep Iraq and its people away from war and maintain internal peace.

We emphasize the need to intensify bilateral and collective dialogue among us to overcome this stage, and work to suspend points of conflict in order to achieve the fulfillment of constitutional rights in accordance with the principles of partnership, balance and national unity.

Therefore, we believe that the current calls for parliamentary sessions to elect the president and then appoint the prime minister need more consultation to take into account the merits of all communities in the political process and according to the size of their elections.

The Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) has always emphasized the importance of understanding the coordination framework forces and the political forces of the National Assembly for our position on the presidential election through a Kurdish mechanism for Kurdish parliamentary parties or factions in parliament. Both the “framework” and “council” parties have largely adopted this mechanism for appointing their representatives, and the same mechanism should be followed for the Kurdish option.

While we realize and believe that these options have not yet been decided by the framework forces and Kurdish forces, attempts to rush things or impose them will lead to the opposite result and deeper division, which the country does not need at this critical stage.
Therefore, independently and in consideration of the country's highest national interest, there is a need for more dialogue among the parties concerned to reach an effective and sustainable solution that protects the security and safety of the country.
With respect and appreciation
