It’s already known that auras have a connection to memories. Momo can see others’ memories when she touches their auras.

(**Extra thought:** It only happens when the person is near or at death though, I wonder if it has anything to do with their life “flashing before their eyes”?)

This has happened twice before that I can remember, with Aira and Vamola.

Momo lost her memories at the same time she lost her powers. And auras have consistently been linked to powers. And it just so happens, that out of the 6 Fairytale Curse holders, only Momo and Okarun have innate powers.

(**Extra:** My theories explaining what Okarun’s powers are: [https://www.reddit.com/r/Dandadan/s/Sb1fn8jpgV](https://www.reddit.com/r/Dandadan/s/Sb1fn8jpgV) and the undeniable proof: [https://www.reddit.com/r/Dandadan/s/nnYsA8P3Ci](https://www.reddit.com/r/Dandadan/s/nnYsA8P3Ci))

The rest of the Fairytale Curse holders have external powers. They came from Yokai, rather than from themselves. And so they didn’t suffer any negative effects.

But when Momo, whose powers are innate had them stolen, she lost her memories. A part of her was taken. And the memories she made after she unlocked her powers are linked to them. So when her powers were stolen, her memories were as well.

**Biggest argument**

The biggest argument against this idea is that when Turbo Granny lost her powers, her memories remained untouched.

I think that:

**1.** It could work differently with Yokai.

**2.** The method of removal was different. I would argue that compared to the Kozuka method, this one (her powers being left behind) was less forceful. While Turbo Granny was forced out, her powers *were not*, so the same effect wouldn’t occur. Especially since the Kozuka method requires the victim to yield before powers can be taken. When they accept defeat, they also *yield* a part of them (memories). But instead what happens to a Yokai curse user, they yield the Yokai, which is already external. (For example, when Hase took a Yokai curse, the Yokai itself appeared behind him).

Anyway those are my thoughts, hopefully it isn’t disproved tomorrow. 🤞

Theory: Auras are linked to memories and so are powers.
