Racial discrimination and renting in Malaysia - how is this legal?

I've been renting for about 5 years in KL and it drives me crazy that agents screen potential renters by asking for race / religion. It doesn't matter if you have paper qualifications or can provide payslips, landlords (of any race) are so dang racist. Is there no law that prevents this? How do we dismantle this? At this rate, just give everyone equal rights and be done with it, fml.
