24F, Mumbai, Estranged from parents, broke, and about to lose my roof — how do I survive this phase?
For 25 years, my life has felt less like living and more like surviving a storm that never ends.
Home was never “home.” It was Trauma , Turmoil , Terror. The kind where every day feels like it could explode. I already left once out of desperation, but reality hit harder with a ₹30K salary in Mumbai doesn’t exactly buy stability, so I had to come back.
Mentally, I’m not okay. I have severe C-PTSD and chronic depression. Psychiatric meds aren’t optional for me, they’re survival. Around 25% of my income goes into just staying functional enough to exist. The rest goes into basic survival.
And yet… I was never really taught how to live independently. No life skills, no safety net. The rule was simple: pay or leave.
Now I’m stuck in this in-between phase:
• Forcible early release from last organisation
• Waiting for my new offer letter
• No clarity on FnF timeline
• ₹2,000 left in my account
I don’t even know how long this limbo will last.
On top of that, my depression has completely wrecked my appetite. I barely feel hunger anymore, which means I’m eating irregularly or not at all. So even something as basic as “just eat” isn’t simple for me right now.
I feel like I’m standing in rising water with no ground under my feet.
How do I get through this phase without completely sinking?
How do I feed myself, literally and mentally, when everything feels like it’s collapsing at once?
I’m not looking for sympathy. I just need something practical, something real, that can help me stay afloat right now.
