why do people drive their cars around really loudly?
this is something that tends to grind my gears but i am genuinely wondering. on my college's campus a lot of people (mostly guys i've noticed) will drive their cars around campus and rev the engine really loudly. it's usually either lifted trucks or sports cars. sometimes the same cars will go around campus multiple times in one hour. one of the trucks even has a loud train horn instead of a normal one. i've always assumed it's to impress girls, but does that actually work? or is it just to get a rise out of people? i've always had trouble understanding where the gratification is in doing this.
