Troubleshooting post-wash dye migration on 100% polyester: Is it a curing or moisture issue?
Hey guys, I have a deep dive question regarding ink migration and moisture management on high-performance synthetics. I’m noticing that even with a high-quality carbon blocker, I’m still getting some dye bleed on certain 100% polyester jerseys after about three washes. Do you think this is more about the curing profile of the TPU powder not reaching full cross-linking, or could it be related to the humidity levels during the film printing stage causing the white ink to trap moisture before it hits the oven? I’d love to hear if anyone has experimented with lower temp, longer dwell time curing cycles to stabilize the dyes without sacrificing that soft hand-feel we’re all after.
