Sharing intimate feelings with spouse

Hey everyone, we have been married for about 10 years and it's been a wonderful journey so far. Both of us are very open and transparent with each other about almost everything in life. We have shared our most intimate fantasies and kinks also with each other during excited moments. Somehow, we still feel quite hesitant about talking about such things during normal course of life even though we have done that before. Does anyone else feel the same? Has anyone found a way around to this and made your connection even stronger and fun?
