Why are invoicing tools still so… bloated?

Serious question.
As a dev, all I really need is:
- create invoice
- send it
- know if I got paid
That’s it.

But every tool I try:
- tries to be accounting software
- adds features I’ll never use
- charges €15–30/month for it

I ended up building my own tool just to avoid that.
Just curious:
Do you actually use 80% of what your invoicing tool offers?
Or are we all just tolerating bloated tools because “that’s what exists”?
